they can flip to Malachi
Seems an odd choice of book to me as it's easy to find, being the last one in the OT. Not that I remember it ever being quoted from.
this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".
with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

i've always wondered about this.
when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.
does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?
Back in the 70s there were two people in my congregation that took the emblems, a dear old lady and a peculiar guy in his late 50s or early 60s. This guy was ‘in the truth’ long before I arrived, but he never ‘advanced’ in it. He was never a servant of any kind, never gave public talks, not even the School Instruction talk, and hardly ever answered at meetings. He was generally regarded as dubious, although no one would come outright and say they doubted his claim. I was the School servant for a while and on one occasion I had to ‘council’ him for his talk. I should have just said it was good, with some meaningless platitudes, but I was conscientiously honest and told him the truth (I was also only 26). After the meeting he took me aside and swearing like a trooper told me what a f-ing jerk I was, unfit for my role, and that I was in no position to tell him anything. I was actually quite pleased with his reaction, as it just confirmed my doubts about the ‘truth’, and about a year later I was out.
this may be well known here but i just discovered it.. lots of old publications are in the public domain and are available for download.
could be a great source of information for those that need it.. here are couple links.... https://archive.org/details/studiesinthescripturesvolumes1-7.

If you start a little further back in archive.org site, there is virtually everything the Watchtower has ever published.
in the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.
as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.
does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?
It seems to be a safe rule to follow, that prophecy can not be understood by us until it is fulfilled or in the course of fulfilment.
It doesn’t appear to be of much use then, does it? Funny how the WT only applies this rule when their ‘understanding’ about a prophecy proves to be wrong. After all, their ‘understanding’ right now is that the following will all happen in the ‘near future’;
Phase 1: Precursor of “sudden destruction”
• nations will be saying, “Peace and security!”
• final sealing of the anointed remnant (the 144,000)
Phase 2: The Great Tribulation Begins
• Attack on religion by the United Nations
• The attack will be cut short
Phase 3: Events leading up to Armageddon
• Celestial phenomena
• Judgment pronounced on all God’ enemies
• All-out attack on all of Jehovah’s people
• Gathering of the anointed remnant to heaven
Phase 4: Armageddon
• Jehovah will rescue his people under attack
• Execution and removal of all human enemies of God’s Kingdom
They clearly haven’t applied the rule to this pile of crap.
for those who were never a jw, here's a fun guide to passing yourself as one:.
privilege [priv-lij] - a duty nobody would volunteer to do which is assigned to you without your say so.
such as cleaning the toilets, picking up other brats candy wrappers in the back row and being stuck on locking up duty for the 7th time in a row.. df'd [dee-eff'd] - disfellowshipped.
OLD TRUTH - Stuff that the passage of time has proven false, but was true at the time.
NEW LIGHT – The stuff that is true now, even though the passage of time may prove it to be false later.
FALSE PROPHET - Those who purport to be prophets of God but who are proven false by their record of failure (excludes the WTS).

Vidiot, not sure if your question was part serious, but just in case, in the Anglican Church the resident minister is known as a Vicar, and he/she lives in the Vicarage.

the statement in the article "who is leading gods people today?
" in the feb 17th study edition of the wt is very interesting.. it states: ""the g.b.
is neither inspired nor infallible" ..we can err .in doctrinal matters....".
Yes, they have admitted in print that they are not inspired and not always right;
“… the “faithful and discreet slave” has alerted all of God’s people to the sign of the times indicating the nearness of God’s Kingdom rule. In this regard, however, it must be observed that this “faithful and discreet slave” was never inspired, never perfect.” (Watchtower, March 1, 1979, page 23).
“Jehovah’s Witnesses today … do not claim that this slave class is infallible” (Jehovah’s Witnesses – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom, 1993, page 626).
That however is not rellevant, because THEY MUST BE TREATED AS IF THEY WERE;
“It is vital that we … respond to the directions of the “slave” as we would to the voice of God.” (Watchtower, June 15, 1957, page 371).
“To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization ... Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him.” (Watchtower, May 1, 1959, page 269).
“… a mature Christian … does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by ... “the faithful and discreet slave.”” (Watchtower, August 1, 2001, page 14).

i remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.
I’m not entirely sure the average Dub is so
sensitive to criticism, at least that’s not been my experience of late. Mind you, I don’t get to see them much these
days, I haven’t had a call in about three years. But one thing’s for certain, the GB are on a
par with the Muslims when it comes to sensitivity to it. And you can see they would go apoplectic if
you were to hold their TV performances up to ridicule.
